GRIMSBY'S NEW TRAWLER LANDS MAIDEN TRIP
As fireworks began to explode over Grimsby's evening skyline, the new trawler "Jubilee Quest" sailed into port at 5.00pm on Bonfire Night. With her maiden catch of 300 boxes on board, she was carefully guided through the lockgates by Skipper Graham Hall. A party of family and friends were on the quayside to welcome her in. During her maiden fishing trip she had encountered severe gales but the crew reported that the boat had ridden the weather well.
Built by Parkol Marine at Whitby, she was launched on 4 October 2009. After successfully completing MCA inspection and sea trials, she sailed on her maiden trip just over a week ago. A formal naming and blessing ceremony is scheduled to take place on Grimsby Fish Market on Saturday 7 November 2009. Then it will be out in to the big wide world hoping that fisheries administrations will give her the effort and quotas that she and the rest of the UK fleet richly deserve.

QUOTA MANAGEMENT SYSTEM OPERATIONAL
The Quota Management System (QMS) is now being accessed by some member vessels and skippers are pleased with the information it is providing. QMS has been developed with a degree of flexibility to allow for changes in quota management.
